In order to do this, there are some requirements we must meet before we begin:ġ. In other words, port-forwarding is the key to let others access our personal Terraria server from all over the internetz. Port-forwarding allows remote computers (for example, computers on the Internet) to connect to a specific computer or service within a private local-area network. This guide is for people who own a modem and want to set it by themselves.*** So, what is port-forwarding? If your modem is locked by your ISP, you can give them a call and gently ask them to configure your modem to forward port 7777 (Terraria's default port) or any other port without much trouble. ***A REMINDER, JUST IN CASE: most ISPs will gladly configure their modems to your needs. However, I'll be more than glad to help you out with any question you may have, as most modems are very similar to configure.*** Additionally, you will still require some technical knoledge in order to do this. In fact, it will only show how to configure port-forwarding with a D-Link 2640T adsl modem. This guide will certainly NOT cover specific configurations for every modem available. ***Before we start, please note that this is a very basic guide to port-forwarding for us to have an idea of what is required in order to let others connect directly to our home's IP address without using Hamachi or other tools. (This guide is apparently complete! Please add your comments and suggestions! )
